Retrain
Employability Project

Providing meaningful training and work opportunities for those far from mainstream options.

About Retrain Scotland

Retrain is a social enterprise which aims to train and equip people to use their skills and talents in the workplace.

As a community interest company, our ultimate aims are to benefit the community.

We know the problem isn’t always a lack of opportunities, but that there are many people who don’t fit the mould or somehow fall through the gaps.

Our supportive, flexible approach in providing hard and soft skills training on real projects make our offering unique in this area.

Heavenly Treats

Heavenly Treats is more than just a sweet treat.  This is a cookie making business which will provide employment for people from the schemes of Scotland.

The aim is to equip people to use their skills and talents in the workplace.

Our Mission

Our Christian faith underpins what we do and why we do it.

We believe we were made to work diligently with our hands and be useful in our communities. We know there are many people who have much to offer in the workplace and that they can find stability and purpose as they work and contribute in a nurturing  environment.

Our back-to-work employability project has several aims:

To give people a theological foundation for understanding why work is important. That is, we want to help people see that work is valuable because God says it is.

To train people to use their God-given skills so that they might obtain honest, meaningful work in their community.

To create pathways for existing Christian businesses to participate in the discipleship and further growth of new believers.

Forge & Equip

Discover a world of creativity and purpose at our partner’s workshop.

From welding to woodwork, they empower trainees with essential skills and transform recycled materials into beautiful creations.

They also undertake bespoke work using recycled and donated materials wherever possible.

The sale of these items helps us cover our costs and provide practical learning opportunities.

Support Retrain

As a community interest company, our ultimate aims are to benefit the communities in which we work.

We are not profit driven.

Retrain’s activities provide benefit to people who live in areas of Scotland which have been officially recognised as deprived.

Long Term Support

Long-Term

Working with like-minded organisations we have referred individuals to other employers for work, training and volunteering positions.

Mentoring

Mentoring

If you could offer some of your time to an indivual who needs a positive role-model in life. It’s nothing scarier than a cup of coffee and a chat!

Volunteering

Volunteering

We are always keen to hear from those who have time and want to use their skills and experience to help others.

Home Decor 20

The bench and BBQ have settled in well and the garden has been reorganised to suit them! Very happy with our purchases.

– Pam, Eskbank (Customer)

I am pleased to support Retrain because I think they are tackling the root causes of why so many communities are broken. They are really changing lives and more so than something like a food parcel on its own ever could.

– Margaret (Monthly Contributor)

Working in a Christian environment was really important to me. I have worked in some places where the influences led me down a bad path in life. I’m really enjoying all I’m learning now.
